CSU Terrorism

"CSU Terrorism": The reasons for the mid-1940s strikes by the Conference of Studio Unions (CSU) are complex. Led by Herbert Sorrell, Business Agent of the Motion Picture Painters, local 644, the Screen Actors Guild declared the strikes jurisdictional and refused to honor CSU picket lines. This 8-page booklet, illustrated with photos of strike scenes, personal injuries, and property damage, was published by the CSU's rival, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employes (I.A.T.S.E.), and given to the Guild by the IATSE International Representative, Roy M. Brewer, in 1945.
