Screen Actors Guild mourns the passing of labor leader and activist, John Delloro, who passed away in the early morning of Saturday, June 5, 2010 from a heart attack.
“Do these glasses make my butt look 3D?” said the woman next to me at the Samsung booth. We were both wearing dorky-looking active shutter 3D shades and checking out the latest 3D televisions on display at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held in January.
The show hosts more than 113,000 people for five days of panels, press conferences, events and exhibits spread over show space that’s equivalent to more than 32 football fields.

SACRAMENTO – The state Employment Development Department (EDD) is responding to increased demand for unemployment insurance benefit assistance by opening its call center phone lines from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, beginning March 21.
The Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (LGLA) celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a dinner and awards gala February 28, 2009. The Gala honored LGBT lawyers’ extraordinary efforts on behalf of marriage equality. Thirty years ago, lesbian and gay lawyers formed LGLA as a response to the bitter battle over Proposition 6 (the ‘Briggs Initiative,” a failed attempt to ban all gays and lesbians from the profession of teaching in California).

Screen Actors Guild is pleased to announce the implementation of the Stewards Committee, an ombudsman for members that will provide avenues for the Hollywood membership to contact available fellow board members for assistance. Additionally, the committee shall provide useful feedback and suggestions towards improving member relations and process to Guild staff.
