You Are Invited to “The Working Actors' Survival Kit - Building Your Career as an LGBT Performer” Presented by Screen Actors Guild LGBT Actors Committee and NewFest 2010

Screen Actors Guild Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Actors Committee is proud to present this workshop during NewFest 2010, the New York LGBT Film Festival.  The panel will address the critical tools LGBT actors need to promote and sustain careers in film, stage and television, including practical tips on resumes, headshots, reels, representation, making an audition tape, uploading pictures and reels online and using social networking forums.
Discussion points include being true to yourself as an LGBT performer, remaining versatile while being proactive and creating a specific niche for yourself in the vast entertainment business.

Panelists include casting director Kim Moarefi (“Grey Gardens,” “Bernard and Doris”), acting teacher Caryn West (selected as “The Best Acting Coaches” 2009 Backstage East and West) and actors Traci Godfrey (“Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “As the World Turns”), Gary Riotto (“ER,” “The Heartbreak Kid”).
